If the locking of Nontron knives is traditionally provided by a rotating ferrule system, this model is an exception to the rule! 

Here, the heel of the blade is hooked on the flat spring (also called the palm) that covers the back of the handle. To unlock the knife, simply lift the ring located on the palm.
